Brandon Michael Wolfe

August 23, 1992 — January 11, 2018

Brandon Michael Wolfe died at his home in Round Rock, TX on January 11, 2018.  He was 25.

Brandon was born on August 23, 1992 in Austin, TX.  He is the son of David and Vonna Wolfe.  He was baptized on July 11, 1993 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Taylor, TX; sponsors were Terry Gordon and Debra Moehnke Rinderknecht.

Brandon is survived by his parents David Lawton Wolfe Sr. and Vonna Gordon Wolfe and brother David “Lawton” Wolfe Jr. of Austin, TX; his grandparents Fred Duane “Ric” Gordon and Bonnie Moehnke Gordon of Taylor, TX; grandmother Catherine Wolfe of New Orleans, LA; uncle and aunt Terry Gordon and Lisa Pike, of Taylor, TX; uncle and aunt Michael and Amy Wolfe, of Mandeville, LA; uncle and aunt Philip and Anita Wolfe of New Orleans, LA; first cousins Jack Gordon, Graydon Wolfe, Liam Wolfe, Alexandra Wolfe, Angelle  Wolfe, and an abundance of loving and special extended yet especially close family.

He is also survived by longtime girlfriend Erin Glenn, their canine kids Diesel, Buddy, Spunky, cat Nimbus, nine snakes- boa constrictors Ben and Ophelia, and pythons Sunny, Luna, Milo, Sharon, Haze, Odis, Infi, plus two tanks of fish.

Brandon is preceded in death by his grandfather George Wolfe.

He graduated from McNeil High School in 2010, completed some college classes, like many of us worked at some fast food places, but gravitated to being an ‘I want to learn in the field ---hands on kind of guy.’

His love of working with his hands brought him to work for his cousin Eric Moehnke at Moehnke Custom Cabinetry in Taylor, TX.   The pull of the outdoors first took him to building fences and custom outdoor decks, and quickly to Jeff DeVeny Incorporated where he has worked for almost three years.  At DeVeny, Brandon collaborated with a team of carpenters to build and design some of Austin’s largest and most elaborate estate homes.  He started out as a great carpenter and grew into a highly skilled asset to the building industry.  He led multiple projects to completion.  He had a great personality and got along with everybody, making friends everywhere he went.  He has left a mark on the Austin community that will always be here for all to see and admire.  He is loved and missed by his co-workers and clients.

Brandon loved being outside, he enjoyed camping and being in and on the water.  His passion for fishing was so strong.   Lakes, tanks, streams, rivers, it didn’t matter- anywhere you could cast a net or line even for a few minutes.  He especially loved the coast, in particular Surfside Beach, TX.  Every summer we journeyed to Surfside Beach for a week, family and friends.   Year in and year out, Brandon would tirelessly stride out into the crashing waves to stand in chest deep water with his rod and reel, with whomever was willing to stand out there with him on the fourth sandbar, distant specks of heads barely visible from the shore, patiently pursuing the next big catch for hours on end.   He was so proud to have contributed food for the group.  So many of us now love grilled black tip shark, a prized treat because of his passion and effort.

He was a hippie at heart and a free spirit.  He loved his family, he loved his Erin, he loved his friends, he loved his animals, and he loved his music.

Pallbearers will be brother Lawton Wolfe; uncles Terry Gordon, Michael Wolfe, and Philip Wolfe; cousin John Glenn; and close friends Bradley Kaufman, Ryan Hinson, and Martin Benavidez.
