William Gerald Welch

William Gerald Welch, 74, left his earthly home on August 23, 2023, at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock. Gerald was born on December 3, 1948, in Abilene, TX to Cratis and LaVerne (Whitmire) Welch. He was the fourth of 6 children. Gerald graduated from Taylor High School in 1967. He married his sweetheart Brenda Joy (Phillips) Welch on December 26, 1971, and their union lasted 51 years. Their marriage was blessed with 2 sons: Clint and Cody. Gerald spent 3 years in the army, worked as a print technician for the State of Texas, and provided maintenance for the ACC Fire Academy before retiring in 2015. He enjoyed reading, driving tractors, watching John Wayne movies, and spending time with his horses and dogs.

Gerald is predeceased by his parents, brother Stanley Welch, and brother-in-law Clifton Peters. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Taylor, sons Clint (Sarah) Welch of Taylor and Cody (Melissa) Welch of Georgetown, grandchildren: Jacob Welch of Galveston, Emily Welch of Taylor Benjamin Welch and Emma Welch of Georgetown. He is also survived by his siblings Janis Dunham of Clarksville, John (Cathy) Welch of Hillsboro TN, Charla Peters of Belton, and David (Kathy) Welch of Taylor, sister-in-law Sue Phillips of Coupeville, WA, and his uncle Kermit Whitmire of Clyde.
