William Roger Memmer

William “Bill” Memmer 71, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on December 9th, 2023. Bill was born on December 9th 1952 in Akron, Ohio. He was an Army veteran, serving honorably in Vietnam. After his service, he made Texas his home. He was a tradesman, eventually retiring as a mechanic. Together, he and his wife built a beautiful home together. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Memmer, Mary (Higgins), and Charlotte (Varner); brothers, Richard Memmer and Roger Varner. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Terry Memmer; daughter, Kelly (Eric) Koonce; grandchildren, Avery Koonce, Colt Koonce, and Ben Koonce. He was blessed to spend his final years in their loving company. He was sweet, funny, and lived life on his own terms. He will be sorely missed by his nieces, Jessica and Joanna; brothers Ron, Carl, and John; sisters Lorna and Norma, and brother Jim, who was there to comfort Bill in his final moments. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 6:00-9:00pm at the Fireman's Hall at 201 W Main Street ,Thrall, TX 76578. All friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Bill. Dinner will be served. Bring your appetite and a good story!
