Wandeen Caroline Zieschang Finn, 84 of Coupland was called to her heavenly home on January 30, 2019. Wandeen was born in Taylor, Texas to Walter and Edna Zieschang on October 13, 1934. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lee Roy Finn; and sister Yvonne Tucek.
She is survived by her brother Rankin Zieschang (Wanda); her daughters Vickie Melton (Greg), Bonnie Urbanek (Michael), and Connie Voigt (Wayne); her sons Gaylon (Alice), and Terry (Gretchen); grandchildren Tanya Townes (Bobby), Laurie Peterson (Bill), Stephanie Ochoa (Josh), Beau Finn (Stacy), Travis Voigt (Jessica), Linnea Gheer (Landon), Kerry Finn (Penny), Derrick Finn (Britni), Lynette Ransom (Joshua), Janine Urbanek (fiancé Clint); and many great grandchildren.
She was raised in Noack, Texas where her parents owned Hamm’s beer distributorship and Noack Service Station with home cooking and the best hamburgers ever. She worked at her uncle Herbert Zieschang grocery store, and the Zieschang Bar and Café. Wandeen and her husband ran the famous Earnie’s Drive Inn in Taylor, Texas. She enjoyed baking, canning, embroidering and playing Pollyanna, Canasta, and other games. She is a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Noack, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations can be made to the Christ Lutheran Church of Noack. Thanks to all the nurses and staff at the Taylor Scott and White Hospital in Taylor for the wonderful care of Mom, and special thanks to Pastor George Qualley of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church for the many visits.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, February 5, 2019 Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, February 6, 2019, Providence Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
