Wayne Limmer

January 6, 1944 — June 26, 2022

Walter “Wayne” Limmer was born on January 6, 1944 in Taylor, Texas to Walter and Malinda (Czimskey).  He died on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Wayne attended both Taylor and Thrall schools and earned his electrical certification through Texas State Technical Institute. Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Linda Kruse, on June 5, 1965 and they had two daughters, Melissa Randig and Tammy Talley.  Wayne grew up in the Lutheran faith where he was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Noack. For over 50 years he was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Taylor. Wayne retired from Alcoa where he was an electrician in the rectifier station.

Wayne grew up in the Beyersville community where he helped his parents and siblings with farming and raising livestock.  His love for hunting and fishing in Brushy Creek started as a child.  Wayne was a member of FFA/4-H throughout his teenage years.  Wayne and Linda began dating when she asked him to be her date for the SPJST May Fete and the rest is history.  He proudly served in the National Guard as a MP Staff Sergeant.  Wayne’s love for the outdoors continued throughout the years.  On weekends in the 1980s you’d find the family camping and boating at local lakes with friends.  Wayne loved to BBQ and he and Linda ran 619 BBQ for many years.  He enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren where he was always first in line to pick up the kids from school.  As much as he loved his daughters, he adored his two son-in-laws often ranking them as #1 and #2.  After retirement, you would often find Wayne drinking coffee with his friends at local coffee shops, including McDonald’s and Whataburger.  Wayne would often go to his property in Milam County to hunt and fish. He was a friend to all, husband, father, and papa.

Wayne was proceeded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda, his parents and sister, Joan Cummings He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Randig and husband Ron of Taylor; daughter, Tammy Talley and husband Jason of Cameron; grandchildren, Macey Biar and husband Ethan, Mallory Randig, Lori Talley, Madison Talley and Cade Talley; brothers Bobby Limmer and wife Carole; Frankie Limmer and wife Judy, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
