Walter R. Beran

Walter R. Beran, 73, of Thorndale, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021.

Walter was born September 7, 1948, in Taylor, TX to parents Joseph and Ella Beran. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Thorndale. Walter worked for 30 years at Rodenbeck Farm and Ranch Feed & Supply before going to work at the City of Thorndale. After working there for 10 years, he then moved on to Milam County PCT 4 for several years before retiring.

Walter married the love of his life Donna Iselt on June 17, 1972 and they spent the next 49 years together. From their union two sons were born, Bradley Scott and Jamie Wade. Walter was a simple man that took joy in the little things in life such as, spending time with his family, watching his boys play football, hanging out with his friends, a good domino game, cold adult beverages, and fishing. He was a hardworking man and loved his family very much.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Adolph Beran and Ella Emma Louise (Synatske) Beran; son, Bradley Scott Beran; brothers, Alvin and Bobby Beran; and sister-in-law, Mildred Beran.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna Kay (Iselt) Beran of Thorndale; son, Jamie Beran and wife, Amanda, of Thorndale; grandchildren, Braxton Beran (Macy) and Madison Beran of Rockdale, Bryson and Brenson Beran of Thorndale; great-granddaughter, Emmy Beran of Rockdale; brother, Johnny Beran of Rockdale; sister-in-law, Delores Beran of Rockdale and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation is to be held Wednesday, January 5th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Providence Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 6th, at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Thorndale, with burial to follow immediately after.
