Wallace “Walley” Seggern died peacefully while surrounded by family on December 11, 2019, just 2 days after his 83 rd birthday. He fought a long and courageous battle against some health issues, usually overcoming the impossible.
Wallace was born in the Taylor area and remained there as a lifelong farmer and rancher. He took great pride and joy in his property. He especially loved to be out at the river working late into the night on the tractor or hand weeding by flashlight. He also was an avid South Texas deer hunter. Wallace lived a simple life and never married. However, he always had a large family of pets that would include several special needs animals that he was caring for. He usually had a smile or grin and always tried to get others smiling with his dry humor and Wallace phrases.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Annie and John Seggern and his brother, Roy Seggern.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy (Emmett) Albrecht, a niece, and three nephews.
