Victoria Valdez Morgas, 56, of Pflugerville graduated to eternal life on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at University Hospital in San Antonio.
Vickie was born on August 20, 1963 to Antonio Jr. and Catarina (Magallon) Valdez. She graduated from Taylor High School. She was married briefly to Samuel E. Morgas. The fruit of this marriage produced two beautiful daughters, Valerie and Nicole. Vickie worked hard as a healthcare provider for the homebound. She took care of her patients’ physical needs with great love and compassion. Vickie loved her daughters and worked hard to provide a warm, loving home for them. When grandchildren came along, Vickie smothered them with love that came from above. They were her world. She gave them all her time, attention, care, and her very self. Her granddaughters simply called her “Maca.”
Vickie loved the Lord with all her heart and trusted in Him completely. She battled lung disease all her life. Every time she had a “breathing episode”, she called on the Lord to help her. In 2010, Vickie received a new set of lungs. She thanked God daily for this gift of life. She knew she was truly blessed because she lived well passed the life expectancy. In this extra time she was granted, she lived life fully. When her body began to reject her new lungs, she became very ill. Even in her weakness, she still provided care for her father, her children, and her grandchildren. She fought to stay healthy so she could be there for her family. In the end, she handed over her life to her Lord and Savior.
Vickie is preceded in death by her mother, Catarina Valdez; brother Arthur Valdez; and brother-in-law Frank Azua, Jr.
Vickie is survived by her daughters Valerie (David) Olivio of Austin and Nicole (Luciano) Rehak of Cedar Park; grandchildren Destiny and Jasmine Olivio and Elijah Adrian; father Antonio Valdez, Jr.; brothers Robert, Richard, Ernest, and Victor Valdez; sisters Rosie Azua and Patsy Valdez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
