Tyler Clay Thonig, 24, of Taylor, passed away in Round Rock on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Born October 4, 1995, Tyler instantly became the heart of his family. Defeating odds and overcoming many challenges throughout his life – all while wearing a smile - he was an inspiration to everyone who met him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father Nathan (Jaime) Thonig; mother Mattie (Abid) Thayyam; sisters Starlunn Anne Thonig, Laci Nicole Willett, Mehvish Ann Thayyam; brother Mustafa Abid Thayyam; grandparents Barbara and Charles Thonig; aunt Stephanie Thonig; and cousin Reid Tyler Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Reception will follow at the SPJST hall (lower level) in Taylor.

Pallbearers are Bradley Dyer, James Henderson, Lenny Humphreys, Cody Martin, David Polasek and Spencer Schneider. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Hughes, Chris Lermer, Mustafa Thayyam, Johnny Thonig and Reid Tyler Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered to Dell Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.

The family would like to send special thanks to Tyler’s nurse, Dalphine Scott, and the staff at Dell Children’s Hospital and Seton Williamson County Hospital.
