Thomas Edward Southworth

May 19, 1936 — March 7, 2019

Thomas (Tommy) E. Southworth passed on March 7, 2019 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Gay Nell, and their three babies, Lance, Vance, and Starglene. Tommy was born in Georgetown, TX on May 19, 1936. He was a long time Austin car dealer who was well-known for his honesty and integrity. After retirement, he and Gay Nell continued to embrace life together traveling across the states, restoring their Victorian dream home, finding unique antiques, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Tommy enjoyed life fully. He never met a stranger and could strike up a good conversation with anyone and put a smile on everyone’s face by telling a good tall tale or pulling pranks. He had a passion for country music and his favorite pastime was going dancing with his beloved wife, “Nutty-Buddies” and friends.

He is survived by his three children, Sherrie Amos of Rockport, Alicia and Doug Schneider of Manor, Tommy Southworth of Rockport, sister Judy Thomison of Pflugerville, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

On behalf of the family, a special thanks to the SPJST Assisted Living and Altus Hospice staffs for their exceptional care, dedications and loving support.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 9, 2019, Providence Funeral Home Chapel.
