Thomas Patrick Nemec, 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Thomas was born on March 6, 1942, in West, Texas, to Louis A. and Margaret L. Nemec. Raised in the close-knit community of West, he graduated from West High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force.
On August 7, 1965, Thomas married the love of his life, Linda Lea Gramoll. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories, raising six children who were their greatest joy.
Thomas dedicated his career to HEB in Taylor, Texas, where his strong work ethic and warm personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Outside of work, he had a passion for gardening and was known for his beautiful flowers and thriving plants. Thomas also loved attending festivals, where he celebrated life with enthusiasm and joy. Above all, he deeply cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda; his parents, Louis A. and Margaret L. Nemec; his in-laws; and his grandson, Adam.
He is survived by his six children: Anne Hoadley, Christopher Nemec and wife Kerri, Michael Nemec and wife Patricia, Kathleen Cargill, Jennifer Nemec, and Patricia Fogle. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Amanda Nemec, Alex Pepper and wife Dana, Kelsey Cargill, Nicholas Nemec, Rebecca Nemec, Ty Fogle, Emma Nemec, Logan Jones, and Jessica Nemec. Additionally, Thomas is survived by his brothers, Louis J. Nemec and wife Luritha, and Charlie Nemec and wife Marsha, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
