Sybil Joyce Heselmeyer

Sybil Joyce Heselmeyer passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on January 25, 2023. She received hospice care during her final days and was surrounded by her family and so much love.  Sybil was born in Granger, Texas, on March 11, 1937, to Joe and Annie Mokry.

She had various jobs over the years, from working at Fashions Sewing Factory to waitressing at the Midget Café, a local café in Taylor, Texas in the 50’s and 60’s.  After raising her boys, she went to work at the Taylor Daily Press where she retired in 2007.

Sybil was a long-time member of St Mary’s Catholic Church and St Anne’s Alter Society.  She also served many years as the secretary for KJZT.

Sybil and the late Erwin Heselmeyer raised four wonderful boys.  She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Heselmeyer and wife, JoJo; Jeff Heselmeyer and wife, Diane; Steven Heselmeyer and wife, Lisa; and Brian Heselmeyer and wife, Sarah.  She had five grandchildren; granddaughters, Brittney Bond and husband Jack; Ashley Thomas and husband, Colin; and grandsons, Bradley Heselmeyer, Hayden Heselmeyer and Logan Heselmeyer; and four great-grandchildren Ava Harwell, Vivian Bond, Joey Bond, and Camden Thomas.  She is also survived by her sisters Georgie Edmonds and husband, David; Dorothy Skrhak; brother, Joe Mokry and wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Anna Marie Mokry and many nieces and nephews.

Sybil is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Annie Mokry; husband, Erwin Carl Heselmeyer; sister, Delores Mackey; brother, Edward Mokry and brother-in-law, Clyde Skrhak.

Serving as pallbearers are Bradley Heselmeyer, Hayden Heselmeyer, Logan Heselmeyer, Jack Bond, Colin Thomas and Kevin Skrhak.

Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home Friday, January 27 ^th from 5-6 PM with Rosary beginning at 6 pm.  Funeral will be held Saturday, January 28 ^th at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor at 1:30 PM.  All are welcome to attend a reception following the funeral at the Taylor SPJST Lodge Hall, located at 5025 FM 619 Taylor.

Sybil wrote these words on an envelope we found.  It read:

Death is a heartache No one can heal

Love is a memory no one can steal

Those we Lose Don’t go away

They walk beside us everyday
