In Loving Memory of Sue Ikard Harness
Sue Harness, 84, of Huntsville Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024 in Pflugerville, TX, surrounded by family. Sue was born on September, 18, 1940, in Huntsville, Alabama. She lived a full life with a touch of flair and a passionate love for her family.
Sue had a compassionate, servant’s heart, always taking care of others. She was a natural in the kitchen. Sue had a gift for cooking and baking that brought people together. Whether it was a simple weeknight meal or a holiday feast, her southern, home cooking was the heart of countless family gatherings. Her love of food and service to others extended into her professional life with a dedicated career in the restaurant industry, where she made every dining experience special for others.
Above all, family was her greatest joy. Sue was the devoted wife of Robert, with whom she shared 56 years of love and partnership. Together, they raised Marc, Ben, Pam and Rob in a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. Her children were her pride and joy, and she was their fierce protector, always offering her guidance, support, and affection.
In earlier years, Sue loved to travel and organized many fantastic vacations to Panama City, Six Flags, Myrtle Beach, Opry Land, Busch Gardens and Disney World, as well as many “staycations” in the cities the family lived in at the time. Sue also loved the excitement of a casino and was often a big winner. She also had a soft spot for animals, all animals, especially dogs, who seemed to sense her kindness and love, she was always the number one person in their lives. Sue loved to laugh, she had an infectious sense of humor and was often one of the funniest people in the room. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert; her children; grandchildren; and her circle of extended family and friends.
