Sidney Dale

February 12, 1941 — March 24, 2022

Sidney Duane (Wayne) Dale, 81, of Taylor, went home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 24, 2022, with his loving wife Barbara by his side. They had spent the last few months in and out of cardiac hospital care, hoping to address his heart issues and problems.

Sidney was born to Sidney George Dale and Velma Rae Wiley Dale in Georgetown on February 12, 1941. He grew up on farms in the Georgetown, Pflugerville, and Briggs areas. Upon graduation from Briggs High School, he joined and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. Following his Honorable Discharge, he began employment with the Aluminum Company of America, retiring after 33 years of service.

During their 45 years of marriage, Wayne and Barbara shared their mutual love of travel and did so extensively, visiting and exploring all 50 states, Canada, the Caribbean, and Central Europe, When his mobility became an issue, they simply addressed it by purchasing a large enough SUV to house a Joey lift to transport his scooter.

Sidney is survived by his wife, his true partner and soulmate in life, Barbara Kaspar Dale.   He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Darrin Wayne Dale, and his stepdaughter, L'Tisha Lantzsch Carpenter. He is also survived by two daughters, Tresa Dale and Lora Dale Bevka and husband Frank Bevka; two stepsons, James Lantzsch and Todd Lantzsch; two grandsons, Spencer Gray and Seth Bevka; step-grandchildren, Travis Carpenter, Crystal Carpenter, Madison Lantzsch, Micki Bevka, and Frankie, Donovan, and Dakota Sharpe. Also, surviving him are his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Ted Kallus and Elaine and Herbert Klaus.
