Shawn Dean Dlouhy

March 8, 1973 — February 23, 2022

Shawn Dean Dlouhy, 48, passed away on Feb 23,2022, at his home in Taylor, TX after a long and courageous battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Visitation and Rosary will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX, with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at St Mary of the Assumption Church and will be officiated by Father Keith. Following the service, Shawn will be laid to rest at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Providence Funeral Home.

Shawn was born in Georgetown, TX on March 8, 1973 to his loving parents Ronny and Linda Dlouhy. He was raised in Taylor, TX and graduated from Taylor High School.

Shawn was married to his loving wife Sandy Starks.  They spent 22 years building a beautiful life together.  They share two children – Shane (11) and Shaylee (10). Shawn was a wonderful and dedicated father and family man.  He prioritized Sandy and his children above everything else in his life.

Shawn worked as a Superintendent for Flintco Industrial and Bechtel Corp. He prided himself in being a hard worker and someone you could depend on.  Shawn could never meet a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.  He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  Shawn truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures.  He was happiest spending time with his wife and kids and family and friends. He was also actively involved with his church.

Shawn is survived by his spouse Sandy, his children Shane and Shaylee, his mother Linda Mazoch Dlouhy, his sister Shala Raesz and her husband Scott and nephew Cooper, his sister Shelly Moldenhour and her husband Jason and niece Brooklyn, as well as numerous other family members.

Shawn is preceded in death by his father, Ronny Dlouhy and brother, Shannon.

The family of Shawn Dlouhy wishes to thank MD Anderson Cancer Center Houston, Baylor Scott & White Temple, and Baylor Scott & White Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at City National Bank Taylor in Shawn’s name for his children, or at GoFundMe "Support the Dlouhy Family."

Reception meal will be served at the KC Hall in Taylor following the graveside service.

Serving as Pallbearers are Joseph Garcia, Juan Saenz, Scott Raesz, Jason Moldenhour, Clay Raesz, Barry Tarrant, Hunter Starks, and William “Billy” Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers are Josh Moody, Jeremy Caldwell and Victor Valdez.
