Sharon Christine (Anderson) Taylor of Granger, TX, passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 70.
Sharon was born on June 2, 1953, to Enoch and Zella Anderson in Austin, TX. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1971, where she attended school from the 1st grade. She married the love of her life, Ronald Taylor, the same year. Sharon was the proud mother of three children and an even prouder Grandma to all her grandchildren.
She had many hobbies, including a love for reading; there were not too many days when she wasn’t immersed in a book or something on her Kindle. She enjoyed going to garage sales to find treasures and was a skilled seamstress, finding joy in sewing. Sharon spent many years working at Jack Brown Cleaners, where she got to know her regular customers, sewing buttons on and making friends. She never met a stranger; those were just friends she hadn’t met yet. She loved to chat and genuinely cared about others. Thoughtful and kind to the core, she enjoyed spending time with Ron, watching her grandkids compete in sports and pursue their interests; she was their biggest fan.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Zella Anderson, and her brother Charles Johnson. She is survived by her husband Ron, children Kevin (Beth) Taylor of Georgetown, Cindy (Colter) Gaswint of Granger, Jason Taylor of Granger, and grandchildren Calvin, Brooklyn, Chloe, Zane, Kennedy, and Seeley. Also surviving her are her brother Ralph (Donna) Anderson, brother-in-law Tim (Laurie) Taylor, sister-in-law Sandra (Boyd) Jackson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 1st, at 10 am at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evangelical Free Cemetery, Georgetown, TX, with a reception afterward at the SSCM Hall in Granger, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Sharon’s name to the Georgetown Library, a place she loved.
