Sharon Raye Bland

Sharon Raye Bland, 67, of Taylor, TX, passed away peacefully at her home on September 5, 2017 surrounded by her family. Born April 4, 1950 in Taylor, TX, she is preceded in death by her parents John W. and Alvina (Boots) Thompson.  Sharon grew up on a farm in Coupland, TX and graduated from Taylor High School in 1968.  She then went on to graduate from Baylor University as a Registered Nurse.  Sharon worked at John’s Community Hospital in Taylor, TX as a surgical nurse until her retirement.

Sharon loved being outdoors with all of God’s creations, and enjoyed hunting for arrowheads with her grandchildren.  She had a passion for helping others including animals; she was especially fond of horses and dogs.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and adored her Lord and Savior.  As a devoted member of her church, she loved to sing in the choir and help with Sunday School.   Sharon touched many lives and her beautiful spirit will always be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Bland of Taylor, her mother-in-law, Mary Lee Bland of Abilene, her children, Stephanie and Josh Griffith of Pflugerville, Laura and Heath Nuckolls of Georgetown, John and Anji MaCuk of Georgetown; Jason and Wesley Bland of LA, Ashaley and Jane-Ann Bland of Taylor, along with her grandchildren, Ashlyn MaCuk, Alec Griffith, Ben and Griffin Nuckolls; and her beloved dog, Honey, and cat, Sweetie.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M at Providence Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 8, 2017 at St . Peter's Church of Coupland with burial to follow at St. Peter's Church. of Coupland  Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Sharon Bland to the Sunday School at St. Peter’s Church in Coupland, TX.

Pallbearers are Heath Nuckolls, Josh Griffith, Ashaley Bland, Jason Bland, Wesley Bland and Glenn Hanna.
