Samuel Robert Stancil

Samuel Robert Stancil passed away peacefully at his home on September 11, 2018.  He was born on March 12, 1938 in Canton, GA to Samuel Newton Stancil and Ruth Ingram Stancil.  He attended Canton High School in Canton, GA.

He married Dorothy Carolyn (Cantrell) Stancil on August 12, 1960.

Samuel went in to the US Marine Corps in 1955 through 1967 where he became a Technical Sergeant.  He reenlisted in 1967 with the US Air Force from 1967 to 1979 when he retired as a Master Sergeant after serving for 23 years, 9 months and 14 days.  He then worked for GTE Telephone Company fixing phone lines and finished his working career with Williamson County Road & Bridges in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Carolyn Stancil, daughter, Elaine D. Gonzales, son, Samuel F. Stancil and 5 grandchildren.
