Ryan Thomas Gibson

Ryan Thomas Gibson, beloved husband, father, son and friend, passed away on January 17, 2024 at the age of 46.

Born on May 12, 1977 in Salem, Oregon, Ryan attended Beaverton High School, graduating in 1995. He went on to pursue his passion for electrical engineering, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Portland State University in 2003. His career led him to various opportunities, and he found particular joy in his most recent position at National Instruments in Texas.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ryan was a devoted musician. He shared his love for bluegrass and folk music with his father, Thomas Gibson, playing guitar alongside Tom's mandolin. Their performances brought joy to those who had the privilege of listening. Ryan liked to stay busy, and as a result, had several other hobbies including photography, flying model airplanes, dirt biking, inventing and brewing beer.

Ryan will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature. He had an innate ability to give people the benefit of the doubt, fostering connections, and pointing people to Christ. His optimistic outlook on life and his willingness to see the best in others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Ryan is preceded in death by his father, Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Glenna; children, Michael, Tyler, Alex and Andy; mother, Mary and former spouse, Jennifer. Ryan was a wonderful step-father and was loved by Adam and Luci. Ryan's memory will be cherished by his family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Ryan's life will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Parkway Bible Church in Pflugerville, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Concho Hearts Hospice of Austin, TX in Ryan's memory.
