Rumaldo Ochoa Valadez

Rumaldo Valadez, of Taylor, Texas passed away at the age of 94, with his family by his side, on Thursday September 21, 2023.

Rumaldo was born on February 7, 1929 to Fidencio Valadez and Olaya Ochoa in Poth, Texas. He was the seventh of twelve siblings. He married the love of his life, Mary Rosas on August 1, 1950, in Big Spring, Texas. To this marriage came 7 children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rumaldo lived most of his adult life in Odessa, Texas where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic. He later opened Valadez & Son’s Sheet Metal for 15 years. Rumaldo and Mary relocated to Round Rock, Texas in 1985. Rumaldo was a die hard Dallas Cowboy’s and Longhorn’s fan and made sure to watch every game with popcorn and a Diet Coke. Rumaldo also enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren; his face would light up every time he saw one of his grandkids walk through the door. He was a devout Catholic and enjoyed praying the daily Rosary with his wife Mary.

Rumaldo is preceded in death by his wife Mary Valadez, parents Fidencio Valadez and Olaya Ochoa, sons Alfred Valadez, Roland Valadez and granddaughter Rachael Valadez-Dominguez, siblings Lebrado Valadez, Pablo Valadez, Carlos Baladez, Fiedencio Jr. Valadez, Beatriz, Delores, Flora, Anita, and Seledina.

Rumaldo is survived by his children, Rumaldo Jr. Valadez and Wife Viola, Richard Valadez and Wife Adrienne, Elizabeth Cano and Husband Frank, Robert Valadez and Wife Patricia, Margaret De Luna and Husband Eric ; grandchildren, Richard Valades and Wife Lesa, Anthony Valadez and Wife Rosemary, Stephanie Johnson and Husband Jeff, Cheyenne Alba and Husband Chris, Richard Jr. Valadez, Jennifer Parker and Husband Brandon, Nathaniel Valadez, Michaela Conde and Fiance Gavin, Shaina De Luna;  great-grandchildren, Christopher and Cecelia Dominguez, Anthony James and Jason Valadez, Isabelle and Sophia Johnson, Liliana and AJ Alba, Bryce, Ava and Caleb Parker ; sibling Sabitas (Bobby) Pena.

Visitation is to be held from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM on Monday, September 25th, at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd NW, Taylor, TX 76574.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 26th with burial to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.

Honoring Rumaldo as pallbearers will be his sons, Romy, Richard, Robert and grandsons, Richard (Chris), Richard Jr., Nathaniel, and Anthony.
