Rose Mary Rivera

Rose Mary Rivera, 61, of Pflugerville passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, June 21, 2021.

Rose Mary Rivera was born on July 10, 1959 in Taylor, Tx to Donald Matuke Sr. and Mary Martinez. She grew up with 5 younger siblings, and graduated from Taylor High School in 1978.

She met the love of her life, Rafael Rivera Jr, in 1977, and to this union was born two sons.  In 2018, they were married by the Catholic Church, which blessed their union in the eyes of the Lord.

Rose worked for over 23 years at Office Depot, where she established and maintained numerous relationships with not only co-workers, but with her customer core.

Rose was a loving, caring and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her kids and grandchildren were the twinkle in her eyes. She will be greatly missed by all her family and loved ones.

Rose leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Rafael Jr.; children, Steven (Melissa) Rivera, and Rafael (Gloria) Rivera III; seven grandchildren; mother, Mary Matuke; sister, Theresa Vanek; and brothers, Donald Jr. , Greg, John and Patrick Matuke; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Pflugerville. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Georgetown.
