Rosalyn Torres-Rieger

Rosalyn Torres Rieger, 41, of Taylor, was called home to heaven on Friday, December 6, 2019 at her home.

Rosalyn was born on June 7, 1978 in Temple, the daughter of Faustino Sr. and Jovita (Medina) Torres. She attended Taylor schools, graduated from Taylor High School in 1996, and received an Associates degree in Business Administration.

Some of Rosalyn’s happiest moments were the times she spent with her beloved family and friends. She was a proud and devoted mother, aunt, sister-in-law and always, a very loved sister and daughter. Rosalyn was loved by many as she touched so many people’s lives and had the sweetest and most caring soul with an unforgettable laugh. She enjoyed having barbeques and enjoyed evenings surrounded by family and friends at her home. She attended any sport event that her son was involved in.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Anthony Torres; grandparents Vincente and Paula Torres and Jesse and Rosa Medina; uncle Paul Medina; and aunt Rosa Ortega.

Rosalyn is survived by her husband, Steven; children Daniel and Madelyn (Maddy); stepdaughter Kylie; parents, Faustino Sr. and Jovita; mother-in-law Sue Gray; brother Faustino (Scarlet) Torres Jr. of Comanche; sister Amy (Gabriel) Velasquez of Taylor; brother-in-law Brian (Darlyn) Rieger of Port Lavaca; nieces and nephews Sierra, Gabriel, Mia, Grant, Gracie, Kayla, Cheyenne, Chloe, and Jackson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5:00-7:00pm at Providence Funeral Home, with rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Keith Koehl officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Dutton, Hobby Perez, Mikey Watson, James Larson, Anthony Barcuch, and Roman Ramirez.
