Charlie James Griffin

Charlie James “C.J.” Griffin was born January 12, 1930 to Addie Lee Ross and Charlie Ross, in Bastrop County, TX.

C.J. worked for Eugene McGregor for 65 plus years as a maintenance superintendent.

C.J. also known as Bo, was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, but most importantly a man of faith. C.J. was a straight shooter and a “tell it like it is” man who made people laugh with his wit and sarcasm. He worked hard to provide for his children, family and even friends. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and even helped provide furnishings to those who needed them. C.J. put his family before anyone or anything else. He was a kind, hardworking man who gave his life to Christ and lived a faithful Christian life. He was a member of Weeping Willow Baptist Church.

C.J. entered eternal rest on June 10, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was truly loved and will be missed by many.

C.J. was greeted at Heavens gates by his wife, Lula Mae Griffin, his mother, Addie Ross, his father, Charlie Ross, his brothers Sunny Ross and Pony Ross, and his sisters, Edna “Sis” Hamilton and Dorothy “Doll” Smith.

C.J. is survived by his children; Linda Fay Noble, Charlie Griffin Jr., Johnny Griffin, Penny Clarke (KB), Mary Jones (Evan), Ralph Griffin, Delores Bedgood, Michelle Griffin (Lamar), Rochelle Griffin (Howard), Pamela Griffin and Corey Griffin (Carina); his 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; his brother James Earl Ross, his sisters; Denell Ross, Bassie Mack and Inez Ross. He also leaves behind many other loving relatives and friends.
