Beloved husband, father, pawpaw, son and sibling, Robert James Crabb, Jr. went home to his Heavenly Father at the age of 69, on January 23, 2023, at his home in Taylor, Texas. His battle with serious heart issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. Despite the pain, Robert stayed strong until the end.
Robert was born to Robert J. Crabb Sr. and Marie Ellen (Simcik) Crabb on February 9, 1953, in Taylor, Texas. He was the oldest of their three children. He attended Taylor ISD, graduating in 1971. During his work years, he went to night school and achieved his Master Electrician license. Robert met the love of his life, Lynn, on a blind date in August of 1971. It was love at first sight, they married on July 15, 1972. They have 2 children, Robert (Robby) James Crabb III and Keith Lynn Crabb. He worked as a Master Electrician at Westinghouse for over 20 years and then spent 4 years working at Samsung before opting for early retirement.
Despite the odd foot in the mouth moments or unfortunate slip ups, he was a passionate and dedicated individual that knew God as his savior, loved his family, and forged friendships that have lasted for years. He enjoyed fishing, dove hunting, working on his vintage cars and playing pool with his family and friends.
Robert is survived and missed by his wife of 50 years, Carol Lynn Crabb; his sons, Robby and wife, Rachel Rau Crabb; Keith and wife, Melissa Hines Crabb. He will be forever cherished and remembered by his five grandchildren: Blake, Cody, Garrett, Julie and Reed Crabb. He is also survived by his mother, Marie Crabb; his sister, Sharon Rodriguez and brother, Timothy and wife Teresa; nieces, Kirby Dennis and Kitt Crabb and nephews, Nicholas Rodriguez and Eli Ochoa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Crabb Sr. and stepfather, Bobby Sheppard.
A visitation for Robert is planned for Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 9 am to 11am at the Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Graveside services will be held immediately following the viewing at the Saint Peter's Church Cemetery in Coupland, Texas.
Clay Lunday, close friend of Robert, will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Blake Crabb, Cody Crabb, Garrett Crabb, Julie Crabb, Reed Crabb, Jeff Bollinger, Honorary Pallbearers Terry Evans, Charles Thonig, Royce Daniels.
Memorials or donations may be made to a scholarship fund honored by a close friend who recently passed who fished with Robert in the Taylor Bass Club. Scholarships are focused on persons interested in automotive mechanics which Robert had a strong passion for.
