Rita David Marburger, 81, beloved mother, Nano: grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Granger, Texas.
Rita was born on June 26, 1941, to Victor and Viola David at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor, Texas. She grew up in Granger and would spend her childhood working on their family farm, along with her siblings. As a schoolgirl, she played different sports and was an active member in various clubs/organizations. She graduated from Granger High School in 1959 before moving on to complete Secretarial School at Nixon-Clay Commercial College in Austin, Texas. She was offered a job right away and began working for the City of Austin. She then moved back home where she worked for twenty years as the City Secretary of Granger. She would then go on to work at the Williamson County Appraisal District, before retiring after twenty-five years.
She embraced her Czech culture throughout her life and participated in her local SPJST community, where she served as the Lodge 20 Youth Club Director for many years. Other titles that she held include: Fraternal Activities Coordinator, Youth Club Leader, and Building Manager where she would oversee the operations surrounding SPJST Lodge 20 in Granger, Texas.
Rita was a holy woman and devout Catholic, heavily involved in her parish. She taught religious education for many years, and served as a member of the Legion of Mary. She lived a selfless life for faith and family; always serving others, especially those in need.
Her spirituality and profound love for Christ enriched those that came after her to do the same. As the matriarch of her family, she leaves behind a legacy worth following.
Surviving children are: Debbie Marburger-Jimenez and husband, Monroe of Rogers; David Marburger and wife, Ruth of Moody; and Susannah Miller of Granger. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Pauline Kovar and husband, Donald of Taylor; Carol Richter and husband, Warren of Pflugerville; Victor David Jr. and wife, Lorine of Taylor; and sister-in-law, Arlene David of Thrall; along with countless nieces, nephews, God-Children, and friends.
She was preceded in death by Lawrence Marburger; her parents, Victor Vitus David Sr. and Viola Josephine Strmiska David; and her brother, Clarence David; all of Granger.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM (with Rosary recited at 7:00 PM), on Tuesday, February 7
th
, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX.
Celebration of Life Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 8th, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, TX.
Interment will follow at Granger City Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers are grandsons: Colby Miller, Preston Jimenez, Bryce Jimenez, and Devun Marburger; as well as grandsons by marriage: Nick McCann, Jake Perez, and Erick Benavides. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer is grandson, Jackson Marburger.
