Raymond Daniel Vrana

September 10, 1964 — March 11, 2021

Raymond Daniel Vrana, 56, of Taylor, TX passed away on March 11, 2021, in Round Rock, TX. Raymond was born in Taylor to Joe and Laura (Neidig) Vrana on September 10, 1964. Raymond married Gina (Gardner) in May 2003.  They had two children Allison Nicole and Trevor Lee.

Raymond attended Saint’s Cyril and Methodius Catholic School in Granger for 8 years and graduated Granger High School in 1983.  Raymond grew up on a farm in Granger where he learned a strong work ethic which he applied throughout his life.  He was a plumber’s apprentice for 3 years at Christianson Plumbing in Austin and for the past 30 years worked as a loader operator for Texas Crushed Stone in Georgetown. Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus, KJT, and SPJST.

Raymond held true to his Texas Czech roots and enjoyed cooking traditional Czech food. But as much as he loved cooking, he loved eating them even more. This was evident with his many roads trip to Ellinger for Kolaches. He loved fishing, hunting, gambling, playing the lottery, watching sports, spending time with his family and hosting family holidays and birthday parties. Raymond told some of the best stories and soon became the center of attention at any gathering incorporating joke after joke with his quick wit.  Raymond was a faith-based man and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church with his family. He was actively involved in parish and school activities for his children.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and was a faithful son, checking on his parents almost daily.

Raymond enjoyed throwing the ball around with his kids as they grew up and attending their sporting events.  You could always find Raymond at a car show with either his son, Trevor or his friend, Bud Johle.  Afternoon drives with his daughter, Allison, were a highlight to his day.  Raymond shared many stories with his kids on those drives through Granger and the country.  Family getaways to Inks Lake for fishing, barbecue and sightseeing were something Raymond looked forward to.

Raymond is preceded in death by his father Joe P.  Vrana Jr., of Granger. He is survived by his children, Allison Nicole and Trevor Lee Vrana, his mother, Laura Ann (Neidig) Vrana, his brothers, Joe (Jackie), Michael, Steven, Marvin (Shellie) Vrana, and his sister Carolyn (Brian) Reynolds, nephews Matthew (Mallory), Joshua, and Christopher Vrana, Logan, Luke, and Landon Reynolds, nieces Ashlee Vrana, Lauren (Jason) Fritz, and Elizabeth Vrana, and great nephews Preston, Paxton, and Hayes Vrana, great niece Andie Vrana, and companion Vickie Strmiska.

Serving as Pall Bearers: Matthew Vrana, Joshua Vrana, Christopher Vrana, Timmy Vrabel, Alan Neidig, and Johnny Vrana.
