Ray Ella Strother gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, October 24, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 13, 1940 in Industry, Texas, to PJ and Lenora Satterfield. She accepted Christ at an early age, and lived a full life. She served as the caretaker of the family, nourishing the lives of her own two children in addition to caring for and helping to raise her nieces and nephews.
Ray Ella will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Ricky (Carolyn) Tanksley and Alvin Thomas. Ray Ella will also be remembered fondly by her four grandchildren, Darwin (Lynn) Tanksley), Tarryn Tanksley, Simone (Troy) Singletary, and Alvin (Veronica) Thomas, Jr; seven great-grandchildren, Shelby Tanksley, Madalynn Tanksley, Jaydon Love, Hayleigh Tanksley, Jayla Thomas-Kinane, Aaliyah Tanksley and Atlas Singletary; one great-great-grandchild, Matteo Guzman; special niece, Virginia Buckley; one sister, Ella Pearl Satterfield; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.
Nine sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 10am - 5pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Providence Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.
