Our beloved Raul Ochoa Sr. was called home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Raul was born on August 24, 1955, to the late Nicholas and Maria (Alderete) Ochoa.
On January 16, 1977, Raul married the love of his life, Linda Martinez. In union, they built a beautiful family over 48 years of marriage, raising daughters, Elenor (Richard), Monica (Aaron), Veronica, and son, Raul Jr. (Brittney). He has 9 grandchildren, BJ (Madison), Zay (Karli), Lauren, Alyssa, Bethany, Vanessa, Kylsie, Brayden, and Mia and expects a great-grandson, Jordan James Tealer, at any moment. He is also survived by his sister, Yolanda (James), brother, Nick (Lisa), sisters-in-law, Nell Ochoa and Michelle Ochoa, and numerous loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Albert, Esau Sr., and Adam, nephews, James, Noah, and Danny, along with in-laws, Felipe & Narcissa Martinez, and brothers-in-law, Phillip and Henry Martinez.
Raul was a great man of faith. He was a devoted servant and instilled the importance of God in his family. He was a member of the Jerusalem Pentecostal Church in Taylor, Texas. He was a pillar of strength, compassion, and unity for his family. His character was defined by an impressive work ethic and love for regular gatherings with his family. Not only did he remain a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan every season, but he also attended every sporting event and extracurricular activity to cheer on his children and grandchildren. He was always their number one fan! Raul’s integrity and unwavering love for family and God will be our family’s guiding force.
The Ochoa family would like to thank the staff at Baylor Scott & White for all the care and kindness he received. We are also beyond grateful for the support of family and friends throughout this difficult journey. We accept that Raul is at peace and has found eternal comfort and renewal. He has fought the good fight, finished his race, and always maintained his faith. He will be greatly missed but always honored for the beautiful memories he has left.
