Rachel Olivarez Burt

Rachel Olivarez Burt, 72, of Taylor went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 10, 2021.  She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Rachel was born on December 6, 1949 in Taylor, Texas to Laurence and Ninfa (Siller) Olivarez.  She grew up with eight brothers and seven sisters.  Rachel worked for Michael Angelo’s as a Quality Control Inspector.  Rachel was loved by those who knew her.  She was a great friend to many.  She often opened her home to numerous family and friends.  In 2010 she moved in with her eldest son Paul and daughter-in-law Melissa where she traveled the United States on many military moves.  During her travels throughout the country, she developed many friendships all over the United States. She was part of the Cackling Hens (a bible study group of women), who up until this day remained close friends (Ann, Barbara, Pixie, Judy, Janet and Debbie).  She was also a greeting card maker whom she blessed many with her creations.

Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister Rachel, four brothers Laurence, Carlos, Alex, Santos and brother-in-law Robert Reyes Sr.  Rachel is survived by her children, Paul (Melissa), Lawrence Daniel Vaughan and Brenda Sharp; grandchildren Daniel (Mary Grace), Kimberly, Robert, Crystal, Michaela, Paul, Michael, Ashley, Kaleb and Aiden; great-grandchildren David, Sophia, Kyleigh, David and Daniel; Sisters, Mary Helen (Edward) Gonzales, Olga Reyes, Janie Tolber, Eva Olivarez, Maria (Sidero) Martinez, Melissa Olivarez; Brothers Solomon (Josie), Ernie (Connie), Adam (Emily) and Johnny; sister-in-law Francis Olivarez and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by close friend Janice Foster.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Providence Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the viewing at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
