Peggy Sue Marek, 70, of Cedar Park, Texas was peacefully called home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
She was surrounded by her family and loved ones just as she would have wanted.


Peggy was born June 27, 1953, to Jean (Goss) and Frank Martinets Jr. She was the middle child of
three beautiful girls and grew up in Granger, Texas. She graduated from Granger High School in
1971 and studied at Temple Junior College before settling down and becoming a farmer's wife in
1975. She and Melvin raised two children and built their life In Granger where she was very active in
Tuesday Study Club, the First Baptist Church and caring for her family and her home. Once her
children were older, she began working in Human Resources for Scott and White in Temple and
• ultimately found her career working in Banking and Finance both in Bartlett and Temple, Texas.
Peggy loved many things including keeping a beautiful home, tending to her children, visiting with
family (especially her grandmothers}, her beloved chihuahuas and her faith. She would always
greet you with a big smile and give the warmest hugs. Peggy was generous and kind and gave new
meaning to the words shop till you drop. Some of her favorite moments were spent in the company
of family, especially during holidays where food, family and faith were plentiful and precious.


Peggy fought many health issues over the years including cancer and a liver transplant but emerged
from those challenges with grace and strength. Through those trials she found herself closer to the
Lord and fought every day to get stronger and better. Ultimately, the Lord knew best and called
Peggy home and freed her from all the years of struggle and pain. In the end, she was ready and at
peace to enter the kingdom of God and reassured her children she would see them again.


Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Jean and Frank Martinets Jr. as well as her Grandmothers, Clara Goss and Lydia Martinets, Uncles Danny and Darvin Martinets and Brother In Law Bobby King.


Peggy is survived by her children Shelley (Matt) McGahey of Cedar Park, Texas, and Brandon (Kasie)
Marek of Georgetown, Texas; four grandchildren Madelyn and Jacob McGahey and Noah and Elodie
Marek. She leaves behind two sisters Pam (Gordon) Taylor of Cameron, Texas and Paula King of
Academy , Texas as well as her nieces Michelle (Casey) Back of Cameron, Texas, and Amy (Michael)
Sexton of Chandler, Texas as well as her great nieces Ashley Campos and Liliana Back and great nephew Casen Back.


Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Providence Funeral
Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1 0:00am on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Providence
Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Granger City Cemetery.
