Patricia Ann Stanley

Patricia Ann Stanley, 92, of Taylor, passed away, Friday July 29, 2022, in Round Rock, Texas following a brief illness.

Patricia (Pat) was born June 12, 1930, in Dallas, Texas to Henry David and Charlotte (Walker) Grove.  She grew up with one older sister, Jacqueline Cares, who preceded her in death.  After graduating from Bay City High school, Patricia briefly attended Sam Houston State University.  After marrying her first husband J B Hamilton, they had five children together: Richard, Randy, Cheryl, Kevin, and Roger.

Patricia went on to marry Melvin Stanley in 1987 and have been happily married for 35 years. Melvin had three children that Patricia also was very close to and enjoyed being stepmother to, Bobby (wife Trina), Kathy, and Jimmy Stanley. Patricia enjoyed and was an especially loving mother to her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.  She was a devoted wife and Christian.

Patricia and Melvin were members of the Memorial Baptist Church of Taylor and have resided in Taylor for 28 years.  She and Melvin were well known in the Baptist community of Taylor and Patricia loved going to church.  For many years they both routinely attended the Karaoke scene around town, she loved to listen to Melvin sing, and she was his biggest cheerleader.  Patricia was also a former member of the Taylor Red Hat Club and TOPS.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jacqueline; and two stepsons, Bobby and Jimmy.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Melvin; children, Richard (wife Janie) Hamilton, Randy Hamilton (girlfriend Debra), Cheryl Mazur (husband Jeff Baker), Kevin Hamilton, Roger Hamilton (fiancée Maria); and stepdaughter, Kathy Stanley.

Patricia’s grandchildren are Christine, Tahlia, Hope (Randy’s children); Valentina, Steven (Cheryl’s children); Coleman, Jacob, and Mallori (Kevin’s children); Ryan and Rachael (Roger’s children), and step granddaughter Hollie Baker.

Patricia’s great-grandchildren are Cassandra, Camren, Clayten, Kalliope, Oliver, Jet, Rowan, Ryker (Randy’s family); Braydon, Hunter, Landree, Blyss, Everett, Davis (Chery’s family); and new baby Waylon due in October 2022 (Kevin’s family).

Patricia also considered Melvin’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren her own; they include granddaughter, Trisha, and her children, Emorie and Uriajh (Bobby’s family), grandson Christopher and his children Camden, Violet, and Oaklynn (Kathy’s family), granddaughters’ Jessica, Emili and Olivia and children Zayden and Xavier (Jimmy’s family).

Patricia dearly loved her niece Elizabeth Heim of Marietta, Georgia. Elizabeth is the daughter of Patricia’s only sister Jacqueline.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Providence Funeral Home.  Life Celebration Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2022, also at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Elgin, Texas.  Pall bearers are sons Rick, Randy, Kevin and Roger Hamilton, son-in-law Jeff Baker, and grandson Steven Mazur.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Baptist Church of Taylor in her honor. Special thanks for the care received at SPJST Assisted Living, Baylor Scott & White Hospital, and Cornerstone Hospital staff.
