Otto Alfred Johnson

August 13, 1951 — April 6, 2018

Otto Alfred Johnson passed away April 6, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Temple, TX.  He was proceeded in death by his mother Laura Johnson of Coupland and eldest brother Joe Schroeder of South Carolina.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Johnson of Coupland; sister, Esther Smith of Temple; brother, Carl Larson and wife Dolores of Taylor; sister, Irene Harper and husband Charles of Georgetown; sister, Betty Heinzke of Georgetown.  Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Otto was born in Coupland, TX and graduated from Taylor High School in 1971.  Just out of high school at age of 18 he joined the U.S. Army.  He was stationed in Germany, Hawaii, and Fort Hood.  He served as a sharpshooter in the Vietnam war.  Upon returning he worked as a carpenter for many years and then joined the City of Taylor as a crew leader for the Parks and Recreation Department from which he retired.

Graveside services will be held at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in Coupland, TX on April 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.  The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to: St. Peter’s Church Cemetery P.O. Box 146 Coupland, TX 78615.
