With heavy hearts, the Cross-family regrets to announce the passing of their beloved Norman Lee Cross. His sharp wit, outrageous sense of humor, goofy personality, stubborn will, and tremendous love for his family will be greatly missed.
On February 5, 1960, Norman Joined the United States Marine Corps. He was assigned to Platoon 218 Second Recruit Battalion and appointed as a PVT (E-1) on September 1, 1960. He later served the United States of America for four years and four months as a machine gun operator in the Marine Corps and was medically discharged on June 10, 1964, due to injuries as a PFC (E-2)
Norman is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Lavon Richardson, father, Cilus Edward Cross and youngest son, Thomas Cross.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Dale Cross; three sisters Wanda Miner, Linda Embry, and Donna Gentry; seven children, Linda Cross, John Cross, Karen Cross, Diane Cross, Robert Cross, Jamie Cross, and Crystal Cross; eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
