Norma Fay Ledonne

January 30, 1936 — September 1, 2018

Norma F. LeDonne, 82, passed away September 1, 2018 with her children by her side.

She was born to the late Houston and Lois Coor on January 30, 1936 in Welch, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Taylor of Lubbock, Texas and her brother Eugene Coor of Artesia, New Mexico.

Norma was united in marriage to Fred E. LeDonne on September 15, 1951 in Artesia, New Mexico.  Their marriage was blessed with four children.  After their marriage, the couple resided in Columbus, Ohio and El Paso, Texas before moving to League City, Texas where they spent 25 years.  After Fred’s retirement, the couple moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico to be close to Norma’s parents, and then later to Taylor, Texas to be centrally located between their children.  Norma and Fred shared 52 years of marriage before Fred passed away on June 9, 2004.

Norma moved to Lago Vista, Texas in 2014 and truly enjoyed the ‘Lago Life,’ making new friends and enjoying the group’s Friday evening happy hours.  Norma said that moving to Lago Vista was one of the best things she ever did, enabling her to meet so many wonderful people and develop new friendships.  These last few years in Lago held some of her best memories.

Norma loved tending to her beautiful rose garden, plumerias, and vegetable garden, and has always enjoyed painting, quilting, reading a good murder mystery or working a puzzle.  Norma loved her mornings on the back patio with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds, feeding the deer and watching the occasional road runner or fox that would come by to visit.  More than anything, Norma loved her family. Her four children were her life.

Norma will be deeply missed by her daughter, Teresa Owens Tresidder (husband Chuck) of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Susan Wind (husband Randy) of Granbury, Texas; daughter Christine Burge (husband Alan) of Houston, Texas; and son, Joe LeDonne (wife Amy) of Lago Vista.  ‘Mee-maw’ will also be missed by her seven grandchildren; Michael Owens, Andrea Ray (husband Alex), Travis Kyle (wife Veronica), Eric Kyle (wife Ashley), Kelli Burge, Austin LeDonne and Hunter LeDonne.  Norma also leaves eight beautiful great grandchildren; Gavin and Anna Kyle; Logan and Kaden Kyle; Jody, Bailey and Alex Ray; and Everly LeDonne.

Norma is also survived by her dear sister Juanita Hodgkinson, of Alamogordo, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma’s laugh, smile and friendship will be missed but she will never be forgotten.  Her life will live on in those whose lives she touched.  Her amazing strength in the face of adversity is both inspiring and comforting to all she knew.

A private graveside service will be held for Norma at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Taylor Texas.
