Nicholas Castaneda Ochoa Sr., 89, passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2018. He was born on December 23, 1928 to the late Jesús and Catarina Ochoa. He married Mary Alderete on January 15, 1950.
He was a faithful servant who enjoyed playing his guitar at church, singing and praising God. He was a member of Jerusalem Pentecostal Church in Taylor, Texas. He also enjoyed playing checkers with his grandkids, taking rides out to the country and watching his favorite tv shows, Gunsmoke and The Three Stooges.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, sons: Albert and Esau Sr., 2 grandsons: Noah and James Jr., brothers: Abraham, Manuel, John, Benny and Pete, and sisters: Rebecca, Sara and Eva.
He is survived by sons: Raul and wife Linda, Nicholas Jr. and wife Lisa, Adam and partner Michelle, daughter: Yolanda and husband James Sr., daughter-in-law Nell Ochoa, brothers: Benjamin & Jesse Ochoa, sisters: Esther Martinez and Naomi Garcia. He had 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Special thank you to his granddaughter and care giver Monica Ochoa who devoted her life to caring for her grandfather. And to Baylor Scott & White Hospitals and Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm with a prayer service being held from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:00 am at Providence Funeral Home, Pastor Daniel Alderete is officiating.
