Monica Maria Hernandez

Monica Maria Castro-Hernandez, 55, of Thorndale, Texas, passed away on July 20, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Monica was born on November 9, 1967, to Benito & Mary (Ramirez) Castro, in Taylor, Texas. She grew up in Thorndale and graduated from Thorndale High School in 1986.  She married Jose Hernandez on February 24, 1991.  Even though they had no children of their own, they had the honor of helping raise 14 God-children.  She loved her family and would do anything to make sure everyone was loved and taken care of. One of the most loving & carefree people you could have ever met.  Monica enjoyed spending time with friends and family, always.  She loved to sing and dance; she enjoyed her music.  You could always find her with a big smile and something witty to say.  She was a joy to be around because she knew how to make the best out of the worst.  Monica could make a friend anywhere and she leaves behind a ton of people that will dearly miss her.

Monica is preceded in death by her parents Benito Castro and Mary Ramirez Soto.

Monica is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jose Hernandez.
