Mildred Ozymy David, age 96, of Needville, passed away January 17th, 2019, two weeks shy of her 97th birthday. She was born in Ennis, Texas on January 31st, 1922, the daughter of John and Angelina Ozymy. Mildred graduated in 1939 from Ennis High School.
Mildred’s family moved to Dallas, where she and her friends were active volunteers with the USO. She met her future husband, Ben, at a dance in Fort Worth and they were married a year and a half later. Ben and Mildred remained in Dallas where their first two children, Ronnie and Nancy, were born. Ben’s job soon transferred them to Tulsa, where Connie was born. Additional transfers took the family to Amarillo and Corpus Christi. The couple retired to Lakeway in 1981.
Mildred considered herself to be a mother and housewife, first and foremost. When she was not cooking, cleaning, and sewing, she enjoyed bridge, golf, dancing, and transporting her children to and from activities.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Ben, her parents and her sisters Ella Mae Faraizl and Albina Vrla. She is survived by son Ronald Lee David; daughters Nancy Jo Kelsheimer and husband Steven Scott; Connie Jene David; grandchildren Lindsay Michelle Kelsheimer and Derek Scott Kelsheimer and wife Sarah Lea; great-grandson Brayden Scott Kelsheimer and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all who have given their support, love, and prayers. Special thanks to Elizabeth Williams, the staff of Supreme Memory Care (Needville), and the staffs of Fairmont Hospice and Greatwood Assisted Living.
