Michael Patrick Talton, Sr.

August 9, 1958 — July 1, 2020

Michael Patrick Talton Sr., 61, of Hutto, passed away on July 1, 2020, at Seton Williamson Hospital.

Michael was born on August 9, 1958 to Patrick “Joe” Talton and Susie Calvin Talton in Jackson, Mississippi. He went on to graduate high school from Provine High school in 1976 and furthered his education at Jackson State University majoring in Electronic Technology. Michael joined the Army in July 1979.  He retired as an SGT in the National Guard after 30 years of service in 2008. After he served in the Army, he was also an armed security officer until his retirement in 2016. Michael met Janice in 2005 and they later married on March 22, 2013. Michael liked having fun and dancing.  His favorite dance was doing, “the running man”.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Damarrion Patrick Talton; sister, Jaqueline Talton Achina; and brother, Joseph Williams Jr.

Survivors include wife, Janice Talton of Hutto; daughters, Chaiwrish Mayfield and Pernisha Vital of Hutto, Aleisha Talton of Grennville, Mississippi, and Lequita Talton of Mississippi; sons, Michael Talton Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama and Randy Talton of Jackson, Mississippi; sisters, Deloris (Charles) Brinson of Dallas, Debra (Earl) Adams of Houston, Gloria (Ralph) Johnson, Eva Nell (Danny) Hill, Mahalia (Kerry) McCoy, Rachel (Quentin) Watkins, Donna Talton, and Belita Farr; brothers, Kenny (Esella) Talton of Jackson, Mississippi and Charles (Ruth) Williams of Houston; 11 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Khiry Garnett, Harasha Garnett, Leonard Deshun Washington, William Washington, Marcus Mayberry and Phillip Essell.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery.

The Talton family wishes to express their gratitude to those who have shown their love and support to our family having given unselfishly of their time.  We deeply and sincerely appreciate all the kindness and compassion you have shown.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Due to health concerns and orders from Gov. Abbott, there will be a limit of 100 people (which includes family members and funeral home staff) as well as a face mask requirement while inside the funeral home.
