Michael Gene Hollowell

Michael “Mike” Gene Hollowell, 61 years old, passed away on June 24 ^th , 2019 at his home in Thrall, TX after a long battle with cancer.

Mike was born in Taylor, TX on September 23 ^rd , 1957 to Orby and Bernice Hollowell. He graduated from Taylor High School in 1976. On February 3 ^rd , 1979, he married Nancy Leschber. They celebrated 40 years of marriage this year. Mike was an electrical lineman for over 35 years.

Mike was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching, cutting hay and fire wood. He was known for his love of fishing, eating BBQ and being quite the jokester. Mike was a member of the Beaukiss Masonic Lodge. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing nurses, doctors and staff at the Austin Cancer Center. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Mike was survived by his wife Nancy of Thrall. Three daughters; Lindsey Pouncey and husband Eric of Burnet, Lauren Hollowell and boyfriend Matt Miller of Pinehurst, Megan Strmiska and husband Corey of Taylor. Four grandchildren; Macy Hollowell and Kayla Pouncey of Burnet, Memphis Sanders of Pinehurst and Kai Strmiska of Taylor. Three sisters; Carol Pitts and husband Richard of Thorndale, Brenda Hoffman of Thorndale and Karen Corona and husband Jose of Cameron. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Hollowell.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 28 ^th , 2019 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX. The Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation at Providence Funeral Home.
