Mary Ann Michalek Blakely, age 69 of Austin, passed away last Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Michalek, of Granger, Texas.
Mary Ann was employed by the State of Texas, Department of Disability Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, and she received numerous awards for her work as a Disability Service Technician. She liked watching television, reading UFO books, and texting her sisters and friends. Burnt orange was her favorite color as well as the team who donned that color, the Texas Longhorns. She also adored Snoopy.
Her spouse Robert and Mary Ann were married for 37 years and have two children, Robert Blakely II and Heather Blakely, two sisters, twin sister Margaret Jane Kokernot and Barbara Michalek, and her beloved dog Joey. She also has two brothers-in-law: Richard and Michael Blakely and sister-in-law Beverly Hutton. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank her primary doctor, Dr. Robina Poonawala, for her dedicated attention, and all those who cared for her during the last few weeks.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were provided by Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas, and Father Hilario Guajardo of Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Granger, Texas.
