Mary Slagle Bigon, 92, of Taylor went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 20 th , 2021.
Mary Slagle Bigon was born on December 20 th , 1928 in Salt Lake City, UT to Kenneth and Agnes (Vander Meyden) Slagle. She grew up with three younger brothers and married the love of her life, John Bigon Sr., on July 8 th , 1948. Mary and John had two sons: John Jr., and Jimmy.
At a young age, Mary and her family moved to Hawaii where she resided until the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Her family then moved to Taylor where she attended Taylor High School and graduated in 1948. Following high school, Mary worked at Rayburn Café, then Montgomery Wards. In the mid-sixties, John and Mary acquired the John Deere dealership known as Bigon Implement where Mary worked at the family business as bookkeeper until she retired.
Mary had a passion for sewing and loved to travel. She and John loved to eat out with family and friends while also spending time with the grandkids.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leon Slagle (wife Sylvia), and sister-in-law Nancy Slagle.
Mary is survived by her husband of 72 years, John; children, Johnny Bigon (wife Janice), Jimmy Bigon (wife Keli); grandchildren, Angela Arthur, Tiffany Gil (husband Danny), Jamie Hinton (husband Robert), Jennifer Bigon, Jimmy Bigon II, Justin Bigon (wife Andrea), Braden Bigon, Peyton Bigon, several great-grandchildren, and brothers Kenneth Slagle and Richard Slagle (wife Lolita).
The family would like to thank the staff of SPJST Nursing Home for the love, care, and support over the last 6 years.
