Marvin Atwood “Grumps”, 74, of Thrall went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
Marvin Atwood was born in Austin, TX on November 24, 1946 to Morris and Gertrude (Helton) Atwood. He grew up with two brothers: David (Cissy) and Gary (Debbie). He graduated from McCallum High School in 1966. Marvin is survived by Patty Rieger, the love of his life, more than a wife; his children and their families: Greg and Gina Atwood, Melanie and Brian Killingsworth as well as his stepchildren and their families: Tom and Amy Jo Harrison, Nikki and Clint Leschber and Kristen Rieger. Grumps adored all of his grandchildren: Kaycee and Baylee Killingsworth; Colton Allhands; Paige and Wyatt Leschber; Garrett, Ethan and Isabell Harrison; Ashley and Tyler Hallmark. Marvin and Sherian started Accent Plumbing in 1982 and worked tirelessly to grow the business into the thriving company it remains today. Grumps loved watching his granddaughters at the barrel races. If he wasn’t at a barrel race, he could be found sitting at his kitchen table watching his granddaughters take care of their horses. Grumps also loved taking care of his cows, watching his son race cars, and sitting in the bleachers watching all of his grandchildren do the activities they loved.
A memorial service honoring the life of Marvin Atwood will be held Tuesday, November 30 at 11 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home Chapel, 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd. NW, Taylor TX. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
