Maria "Mary" Reyes Degollado

Mary Degollado, 63, of Bartlett, went to be home with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Mary was born on July 27, 1957 in Thorndale, Texas to Francisco and Maria De Los Angeles Torres. Mary grew up in Doctor Arroyo, Mexico. She graduated from school and became a teacher. She then met the love of her life, Armando, and they moved to Bartlett in 1978 to start their family.

Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Degollado, father, Francisco Torres, and siblings, Martha Pinales and Margarito Torres.

Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years, Armando Degollado; daughter Marisol Buenrostro and husband Humberto and granddaughter Maura; daughter Laura Luna and husband Ricky and grandchildren Marissa, Christopher and Allison; mother, Maria De Los Angeles; sister, Paula Morena Torres; brothers, Juan, Javier and Sergio Torres, and numerous nieces and nephews, all from Doctor Arroyo, Mexico.

Mary worked at Intercraft for 18 years in Taylor until it was closed down in 2005. Then, she worked for Taylor ISD as a custodian for 11 years.

Mary loved her husband as well as her daughters. But she loved her grandchildren the most. She also loved to spend time knitting, and attending her grandchildren’s events.

Visitation and Rosary will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 29 ^th , at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, January 30 ^th , at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Services will be streamed on the Church’s Facebook page, for those who cannot attend. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger.
