Madeline Lewis

February 7, 1957 — November 25, 2020

Madeline Pearl Lewis, 63 of Taylor, TX., transitioned peacefully from this life to heaven on November 25, 2020. Madeline was born February 7, 1957 to George Lewis, Sr. and Freddie Mae Smith (Lewis) in Taylor, TX. To this union, a total of eight children were born. As a child, Madeline was introduced to Christ at an early age and was a devout member of Taylor Church of God in Christ No. 1 during her youth. Young Madeline attended O.L. Price and Taylor Public Schools. She was a standout in sports, particularly track. After high school, the hard-working Madeline entered the workforce, and was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. She later worked for Taylor I.S.D. Transportation for about 15 years as well as a bus monitor. Madeline was loved by anyone who came to know her. She possessed an infectious smile and was a joy to be around. Madeline showed love and kindness to everyone.  She tremendously loved her children, grandchildren, siblings, and family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and she also loved to cook as her meals were legendary.  Mother Madeline, as she was affectionately called, was a faithful member of All Nations Christian Center COGIC in Round Rock, TX. She was so grateful for being a saved, sanctified believer in Jesus Christ and was always was willing to share God’s Good News with others.

Madeline is preceded in death by her father, George Lewis, Sr.; Her mother, Freddie Mae Smith Lewis; one daughter, Camille Monique Lewis; two sisters, Deborah Lynn McKenzie and Jessie Cheryl Lewis; and one brother, Norma Ray Lewis.

Madeline leaves to cherish her memory five beautiful children. Four daughters: Stephanie Lewis of Taylor, TX.; Tiffiani Lewis of Taylor, TX.; La ’Toya Autry (Markell) of Hutto, TX.; and Ebony Carter (Dennis) of Round Rock, TX. One son: Christopher Lewis of Round Rock, TX. Madeline also leaves to cherish her memory five siblings. Two sisters: Norma Burton of Houston, TX.; and Natasha Lewis of Austin, TX. Three brothers: Fredrick Lewis of San Antonio; George Lewis Jr. of Los Angeles, CA.; and Henry Lewis of Austin, TX. Additionally, nineteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and friends are left to cherish the life of their beloved grandmother, aunt, and friend.

A family viewing will be held Friday December 4, 2020 at Providence Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 pm, and the public will be welcomed in for viewing at 6:00 pm. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday December 5, 2020 at Providence Funeral Home at 12:00 pm. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be only 150 people allowed into the chapel, with family receiving first priority. The service will be live streamed via the Providence Taylor Facebook page as well. Superintendent Joseph Dickerson will be officiating. Internment will at the Taylor City Cemetery.

The family of Madeline Lewis would like to express their sincerest thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of love that has been showed to them during this difficult time. The family appreciates all the comforting phone calls, texts, blessings of food, flowers, and endless prayers. You all have been a blessing.
