Lula Mae Rivers

On Tuesday, March 31, 1936, George and Rosilee Coulter received a gift from God with the birth of their precious daughter Lula Mae Coulter.

Lula Mae grew up in Thrall Texas and received her formal education from Thrall ISD.

Lula Mae accepted Christ into her life at an early age and enjoyed servicing while attending Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Thrall, Texas. She remained a woman of strong faith at all times.

Lula Mae worked for years as a Domestic Engineer and Caregiver to many. She loved taking care of people and teaching them about life. She wanted her children and grandchildren to always feel special and loved.

Lula Mae later met and married Floyd Lee Rivers. Moving to Rockdale, TX she united with Rising Star Baptist Church.

Lula Mae was a missionary and a pillar of the community for many years. With later known as the mother of the Church.

Lula Mae was a devoted and dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Lula Mae loved her family and was considered to be a second mother to many. She was a great storyteller and often shared the family history with family and friends. She wanted her family to know their history, from whence they came and funny stories as well as serious ones. She touched many lives in her lifetime and will truly be missed by all who loved her.

Lula Mae’s health started to decline which required a move to Trinity Healthcare Center in Round Rock, TX for care.

Lula Mae departed this life on March 5, 2024, and entered into her eternal rest. Rejoicing Lula's arrival in heaven are husband, Floyd Lee; parents, George and Rosilee; siblings, James Lee, Rosie, Anna Bell, Willie Lee, Mary, John Allan, Margaret Louise, Robbie Lane, Dorothy, Linda Pearl, and Anette. To cherish Lula's memory and carry on the family are two children, son, Ronnie Lynn Rivers (Sheronda) and daughter, Lisa Louise Rivers; grandchildren: Vanessa Rivers, Ronnie Rivers, Jr., Keith Rivers, Alexandria Houston and Twyquonda Brooks; 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Green (Marvin); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Rising Star Church Family.
