Lorenzo R. Canales Sr.
Born: September 5, 1941 - Died: March 19, 2025
Lorenzo R. Canales Sr. was born in Cameron, Texas, to Esperanza and Taurino Canales. He was raised in Belton, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family, including his two biological sisters and one brother (who predeceased him). After his mother divorced, she married Leon Castor Sr., who welcomed additional 6 brothers and 3 sisters into the family.
Lorenzo was a dedicated Popo, husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving family: wife of 65 years Sarah A. Canales, children Larry Jr. Canales, Danny Canales, Julio Canales, Linda Canales, Ricky Canales Sr., and Rocky Canales. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, cherishing the bond he shared with his 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
For 35 years, Lorenzo worked at American Airlines, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. He later dedicated another four years to Gemini before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
A proud member of the El Amistad and the Knights of Columbus, Lorenzo actively contributed to the community, particularly through his work with Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He was also a beloved Dallas Cowboys fan.
Lorenzo is now reunited in heaven with his beloved siblings: Tony Castor, Mary Castor, Felix Castor, Johnny Castor, Connie Castor, and Jesse Canales.
Lorenzo R. Canales Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
