Linda Kay Wahrmund

August 29, 1946 — September 28, 2024

Linda Kay (Anderson) Wahrmund, age 78, passed away on Saturday, Sept 28th, 2024. Linda was born in Austin, Tx on August 29, 1946 and was a graduate of McCallum High School.  Linda met and wed her soulmate of 56 years, Curtis Wahrmund.  Linda worked as a bookkeeper for Motor Parts Warehouse until retiring to concentrate on raising her family.

Although Linda was born and raised in Austin, when she and Curtis moved to Hutto, Linda knew she was home.  Linda loved everything “Hutto Hippos” and was less than modest about letting you know it.  She and her family were always adorned in Hutto orange and she encouraged everyone to celebrate the Hippos.

Family was so important to Linda.  From her children all the way down to her great grandchildren, the daily routines always included stopping in to visit at Grand mommy’s. Her loving nature was contagious and those that got to know her, knew her just as Grand mommy.  She was her family’s biggest cheerleader and was always present and so proud of anything any of her kids and grandkids did.

When not tending to family, Linda and Curtis spent almost all of their free time camping.  They would travel across the state of Texas finding hidden gems.  This was always followed by Linda and Curtis’ annual trek up the east coast to Maine.  Linda was a fan of the simple things in life, peace, quiet and companionship.  Linda was always quick to point out that life was just better in a camper.  This is something that she has passed on to her family and still rings true today.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Jimmye Anderson, her brother Robert Anderson and the love of her life, husband Curtis Wahrmund.

Linda is survived by son, Ken (Lori) Wahrmund and daughter, Kimberly (Richard) Dugger of Granger, Tx.  Five grandchildren. Raelyn (Cale) Hall, Shelby (Kevin) Easterling, Duston Wahrmund, Devin (Amanda) Wahrmund and Paige Dugger.  Three great-grandchildren, Caylen Hall, Maysen Hall and Nolan Wahrmund.

The family would like to express our thanks to the staff of SPJST Taylor and Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion through such a difficult time.

A celebration of Life will be held Sunday October 13th from 2-5 at Walburg Community Center, 4000 FM 972, Georgetown, TX.
