Linda Lou Goswick McFarlin, adored mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, went home to glory on February 13, 2023, at the age of 68. Linda was born on November 29, 1954, to Donald and Paula (Terry) Goswick. Linda moved to Taylor, Texas in 1974, where she met her husband, James Thomas (J.T.) McFarlin. During their 30 years of marriage, they built a home, blended their families, and pledged their lives to God. She served faithfully at Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church as a member, Deaconess, and church administrator for over 15 years. She moved to Austin to be closer to her children in 2013.
Linda loved making people happy and helping however she was able. She loved Dr. Pepper, HGTV, Food Network, Johnny Cash, and Kenny Rogers. Her Thanksgiving dressing was a holiday staple. She overcame adversity and was a beacon of strength to her family and children. She always wanted everyone to make amends because no fight or disagreement was more important than the time spent with family.
Linda was preceded in death by husband, J.T.; sister, Debbie; and brother, Richard.
She is survived by son, Donta (Letisha) Jackson; daughters Mary Ashley McFarlin (Kory), and Darlene (Cedric) Price; sons and daughters from love and marriage, Beverly (Alfred) Tanksley, Earlene McFarlin (Olalekan) Raji, James Curtis McFarlin, Lareda McFarlin, Daryl McFarlin, Freda McFarlin (Alvin) James, Peter McFarlin, and Octavius McFarlin; twin sister, Donna (Robert) Champman, and younger sister, Connie (Mike) McCloskey; grandchildren, Dante, Keelin, Ariana, Jordynn, Carder, Camylle, Jream, Kory Jr., and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren from her loving marriage with J.T., and a host of nieces and nephews.
