Linda Baldwin Matysek

April 16, 1942 — April 13, 2021

Linda Baldwin Matysek, born on April 16, 1942, passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2021.  She is now in Heaven joining her parents, Ross and Mary Baldwin. She is survived by her loving husband John E. Matysek, her daughter Dayna Matysek Bolger, husband Tim Bolger, stepchildren, Carli Bolger and Sam Bolger and her brother, Ken Baldwin, wife Terry Baldwin, her nieces and nephews, Calesse Carter, Brad Baldwin, Katie James and Charlie Baldwin.

Linda graduated from Taylor High School and was a cheerleader, participated in various school activities and was recognized as Miss Taylor High School in her graduating class in 1960.  She attended Southwest Texas State University graduated with a BS degree in elementary education.   Linda and John married in 1963 which lasted for 56 years and both became public education teachers working in the Yorktown ISD, Dickinson ISD, Austin ISD and Eanes ISD.  Linda was an excellent elementary teacher that loved her students and worked with their parents to ensure their success in school.  She spent 30 years as a elementary teacher and retired in 1997.

She was a devoted Christian, loved the Lord and was baptized in the Baptist Church. She enjoyed all types of sports, especially football.  She was very supportive of her husband who was a football coach and school principal.  She was a person that you could count on and provided positive leadership in every activity that she was involved in. Linda deeply loved her family and supported them throughout her life.

After being diagnosed as having the Parkinson Disease, she took on the battle and fought to the bitter end with her husband as her caretaker.  Although she is gone, she will be missed and forever in our hearts. The memories will sustain us until we will see her again in Heaven and what a joyous reunion that will be.
