Lillian Marie Bucanek Zycha, 86, went to meet her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2019, surrounded by family. Lillian was born on September 21, 1932, to Charles Sr. and Angelia (Woytek) Bucanek, in West, Texas.
Lillian was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Taylor. A member of the Sons of Herman.
She retired from The University of Texas, where she worked for 35 years.
Lillian is survived by her family, including a son Michael Zycha (Kim) of Taylor. A daughter Bridgette Zycha-Estrada (Steve) of Temple, Five grandchildren: Kyle Zycha (Hilary), Eric Davis (Katherine), Naomi, Stevie, and Emily Zycha-Estrada. Great grandchildren: Allyson and Luke Zycha. Brothers: Edward Bucanek (Mary) and Frank Bucanek.
Lillian was preceeded in death by her parents Charles Sr. and Angelia (Woytek) Bucanek, her husband Leo John Zycha, and her brother Charles Bucanek Jr.
Lillian's dedication to her family did not stop here in our world. Beyond her words of wisdom and contrite heart filled with love for family was and forever will be her dedication to God and all that is Holy. Lillian was inspired by the spiritual truth and connection that we bear witness in angels. Her shared memories and successful prayers for wellness and safe journeys were often felt and now held wholesome by her loved ones, as her connection was and remains bound by love.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30th, 10 am, at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church of Taylor.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Will-O-Bell and Kindred Hospice for care given to mom.
